The Birth of 'IT'

All aboard and banded together
We face life’s uncharted seas
Swept to one another
In times of adversity

We're told we'll travel our ship through happy times and some sad times
Some good times and some bad
But were you ever told to keep a watch out for 'IT'
On life’s journey to be had?

I've heard of unspoken communications which can
travel across the universal miles, that have an uncanny way of knowing
if a crew member cries or smiles.

and that healing thoughts for a crew member can travel upon an angel's hand and be released by hope's whisper :
"If you have to fight against 'IT', I'll support you in your stand”
What’s going on? I do not understand
I want to be alone now
I don’t want to hold your hand

What’s going on? I do not understand
I think I’ll faint. Fall down the stairs
Miss school? Yes that’s my plan

“What’s going on? These silences?”
The boyfriend asks a lot
God knows I’m usually chatty
God knows? Have I lost the plot?

What’s going on?
The school works gone down hill
Going through the motions
Life no longer brings a thrill

What’s going on? I do not understand
I want to go to parties again
And I now want to hold your hand

What’s going on? I do not understand
IT came. IT went. IT’s gone. I’m back now !
To the ‘Happy Girl’ brand

What’s going on?
I don’t shout this now in forlorn
In fact I've forgotten all about IT

But God knows IT’s just been born
